This page sets out additional terms that apply when you use nutfreed, alongside our Privacy Policy. It covers things specific to how nutfreed operates as a nut allergy resource and marketplace, and should be read together with those other policies.

About nutfreed

nutfreed provides information, tools and resources for people living with nut allergies and people looking for nut-free products, including our Nut Allergy Radar, Translation Cards, informational content, and our marketplace of nut-free products from independent vendors.

Not medical advice

Nothing on nutfreed - including our translation cards, Nut Allergy Radar alerts, blog and informational content, or any product listed on our marketplace - constitutes medical advice, and none of it should be relied on as a guarantee of safety. Food allergies can be serious and life-threatening. Always:

Check ingredients and allergen information directly with the manufacturer, restaurant, or vendor before consuming or serving any product
Consult a qualified medical professional for advice on managing your or your child's allergy
Carry any prescribed emergency medication in line with your medical team's guidance

Our translation cards are a practical communication tool and do not guarantee that any restaurant, kitchen, or product will be nut-free.

nutfreed Translation Cards (digital products)

Our translation cards are digital products, delivered electronically for immediate access after purchase.

You have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days for a full refund, in line with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To cancel and request a refund, contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of your purchase date.

The nutfreed Marketplace

nutfreed hosts a marketplace connecting our community with nut-free products from independent vendors.

The following applies to any purchase you make from a vendor through nutfreed:

nutfreed is the platform, not the seller. Vendors are independent businesses who list and sell their own products. Your contract of sale is with the vendor, not with nutfreed.
Vendors are responsible for their products. This includes the accuracy of product and allergen information, product safety and quality, order fulfilment, and handling of returns, exchanges, and refunds.
A listing is not a safety guarantee. We carry out checks on the vendors and products we bring onto the marketplace, but this doesn't replace your own checks. Always verify allergen information directly with the vendor before purchasing or consuming a product.
Your data. If you buy from a vendor, we share the information needed to fulfil your order (such as your name, delivery address, and order details) with that vendor. Vendors may only use this information to fulfil your order and provide customer service - they are not permitted to use it for their own marketing. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
Complaints and returns for marketplace products are handled by the vendor in the first instance - see "Complaints" below.

Membership and marketing communications

If you sign up to become a nutfreed member, we'll ask for your consent before sending marketing communications such as offers, allergy alerts, news, and product updates. This may include messages sent on behalf of nutfreed's marketplace vendors or partners - we run these using our own member list and do not hand your personal information to a vendor for their own marketing purposes. You can withdraw your marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us. See our Privacy Policy for full detail on how we use your information.

Complaints

If your complaint is about nutfreed directly - for example, your translation card purchase or your membership - contact us at [email protected]. If your complaint relates to a product or order from a marketplace vendor, please contact the vendor directly in the first instance; their contact details will be provided with your order. If you're unable to resolve it with them, contact us and we'll assist where we can.

Governing law

This policy, and your use of nutfreed, is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
